PLP has submitted a reserved matters planning application for approximately 600,000 sq ft of prime logistics space for the next phase of development at PLP Bessemer Park, Sheffield.
The planning submission will enable PLP to deliver 4 distribution units with sizes ranging from 84,000 sq ft to 293,000 sq ft on a speculative and pre-let basis. Units can be delivered for occupation in Q3 2021.
Phase two follows the first phase which was 100% pre-let before practical completion in Q4 2019. Phase 1 saw global medical device company Arthrex take 45,000 sq ft and hydrogen energy solutions provider ITM Power takes the remaining 134,000 sq ft unit.
PLP Bessemer Park is a key strategic site which is located adjacent to J34 of the M1 motorway, immediately South of Meadowhall Shopping Centre, with six airports within a 90-mile drive and 75 percent of the UK within a 4.5 hour HGV drive.
Hugh Chesterton, Development Director at PLP said: “PLP Bessemer Park is a prime example of the company’s ambition to create nationally significant logistics parks. Following the success of pre-letting the entire first phase before practical completion, PLP looks forward to working with Sheffield City Council to deliver further investment and job creation through the development of phase two.”
Rebecca Schofield, Partner at Knight Frank added: “It is great to see PLP’s continued confidence in the market. The planning application follows the success of phase one which saw both units let prior to completion. The next phase has been designed to provide high quality units which will appeal to both the local and regional market as well as national motorway corridor requirements. We look forward to working on the next phase.”Back to latest news for PLP Bessemer Park Back to All News
